Prettiness

I came across this recently and thought it worth sharing...

You Don’t Have to Be Pretty. You don’t owe prettiness to anyone. Not to your boyfriend/spouse/partner, not to your co-workers, especially not to random men on the street. You don’t owe it to your mother, you don’t owe it to your children, you don’t owe it to civilization in general. Prettiness is not a rent you pay for occupying a space marked “female”.

  1. Jo, this is a wonderful quote. One of my pet peeves has always been the importance placed on what a person looks like. What they are like, and how they act, is so much more important. Hope you're totally over the 'flu now, and that all is well. Take care and God bless, Love, Carol
